 RULES & REGULATIONS: 

VIRTUAL 
ORI TAHITI SAN DIEGO 2020    
 
REGISTRATION:

 $40.00: New Registration
All those who had Pre-Registered for the March 14th Competition will receive a refund for the difference of the Virtual Competition.  For example: If you pre-registered and paid $50 for your entry you will receive a refund of $10. Please allow us time for us to process refunds via Venmo since we have a weekly sending limit. 
All Solo Participants Must Complete the Updated Registration Form: http://www.oritahitisd.com/registration-formrules.html
IMPORTANT DEADLINES:
The registration deadline for FOR OUR FIRST VIRTUAL COMPETITION is now extended to monday, june 22nd by  11:59 p.m. Those who had previously pre-registered must submit an updated registration form online.  
Solo Numbers and Solo Beat Assignment will be distributed to each soloist by email by Sunday, June 21st by 11:59 p.m.
Video Submissions deadline is Friday, July 10th by 11:59 p.m.
JUDGING:
Judging will be conducted by Manouche Lehartel, Tuarii Tracqui and Tahia Cambet. VIDEO SUBMISSIONS WILL BE SUBMITTED TO THE JUDGES TO BEGIN REVIEWING AND SCORING BY FRIDAY, JULY 31ST
Results Will be announced mid-August OR SOONER
COSTUME:
Costume criteria will remain the same as prior Ori Tahiti San Diego Competitions:
Although costumes are not a criteria that the judges will be scoring, the soloists overall appearance/look will be evaluated in the Expression, Stamina, & Overall Appearance category.

*PLEASE NOTE: Any additional accessories worn that do not follow the below costume criteria will result in points deducted from final score**
 
All Tamahine & Vahine costume will consist of the following:
Solid color pareo, side tie, no rolling of the pareo. 50/50 blend, cotton or rayon may be used. No silk satin or knits. Length of pareo should not be shorter than 2 inches from top of knee and length should not be below the knee.
**No hip, hand, wrist, or ankle adornments**

Bra top (covered in material, coconut bra, fresh materials)
  Necklace, fresh flower lei or neckpiece

1 single flower worn on one side behind the ear (fresh flower or silk). No headbands with flowers or flowers on both sides behind each ear.

​All Tamaroas & Tanes costume will consist of the following:
Tihere style or maro of Tahitian print or solid color pareo
A Necklace, fresh flower lei, or neckpiece 
**Ti-leaves for arms and/or legs (optional)

VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

VIDEOS NEED TO BE CAPTURED IN PORTRAIT MODE AND not IN LANDSCAPE MODE.  please be sure dancer is visible at all times from head to toe.
MINimize background items so that the dancer is clearly seen.
No other individuals SHOULD be in the video except the dancer. 
Be sure to film video from the front so the judges can see the routine just as if they were there.
Once solo number and solo beat is assigned to soloist you cannot switch solo numbers or solo beats.
Your video cannot contain graphics, FILTERS, intros or exits.
**IMPORTANT** Once you start recording please allow 4-6 seconds before you start music and ALLOW 4-6 seconds after music stops before you end recording.
When submitting YOUR video PLEASE MAKE SURE TO COMPLETE ALL THE INFORMATION REQUESTED ON THE ONLINE VIDEO SUBMISSION FORM.

Deadline to submit your video is Friday, July 10th by 11:59 p.m.

By registering for this event, you agree that your pre-recorded video will be shown on Ori Tahiti San Diego’s social media and website.
By registering for this event, you agree with all policies stated above and are held accountable to abiding by all rules set forth within the rules and virtual competition pages of this website. Failure to comply with policies may result in disqualification from events.

Here are examples of Tamahine & Vahines who are wearing a single flower (1 flower).  The single flower can be a real, silk, foam, tapa or material single flower. No cluster/rosettes & greenery in or around the single flower. Mauruuru~
